ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Stress testing (Treadmill, Bike, and Dobutamine) and report preparation
Perform ECGs on patients
Holter monitor hook-up, scanning and reporting
Event/loop recorder hook-up and reporting
ABPM hook-ups, interpretation and reporting
Assists with equipment quality assurance and ordering departmental supplies
Maintain examination rooms and work areas.
Organize the flow of patients
Maintain accurate medical records, reports and files as directed.
Assist in promoting and engaging community partners and health care providers
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Work as a team member within the imaging centre and physician clinic.
Document work processes as required.
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from a recognized program in Cardiology Technology.
Current registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
A minimum of 1 year clinical/hospital experience; Current student is encouraged to apply and will be considered.
Stress Echo and IV insertion experience will be considered an asset
Ability to operate all equipment relating to the position
Ability to adapt to new technology.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful or emergency situations. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
Some travels to other catchment area might be required from time to time
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Requires eye sight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and read information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
